Radioactive substance burden Burden from radioactive substances

Detail:

Radioactive elements are not a common toxic burden on the body, but their presence mainly damages the bone marrow and thyroid gland. Outside of nuclear disasters, this burden is not due to human contact with radioactive substances, but to so-called radioactive background or radioactive water or radon gas and the individual's ability to accumulate these substances. It is important to know that radioactivity is a significant carcinogenic toxin and even Marie Curie-Skłodowska died of leukaemia in the 1950s.
